I'm just curious to find out what you guys dissect(ed) in lab.

Thanks!

AP 1 no dissections. APII I dissected a cat, sheep brain, eye and heart.

I also got to do cadavers. No animals... since it was a human A&P course.

Aw, lucky, that sounds cool! Our lab manual is labeled as a "Fetal Pig" version, so I assume that's what we'll be tinkering with.

Nothing. I dissected a cat way back in high school anatomy but dissection was not a part of anatomy or physiology at my college.

Same. I dissected many things in middle/high school and absolutely nothing in college. I dissected everything from an owl pellet to a crayfish to a frog to a cat in middle/high school. I remember my cat had an intestinal hemorrhage and remnants of a half digested bird in its stomach.

Cat and sheep heart. It was actually kind of dumb, since we had to be in groups. We only had one cat for the entire semester, and like 4 sheep hearts. Could of done without it, I did more dissections in my zoology class in high school :sarcastic:

In anatomy ( my school does not have them together) we used cadavers for muscles/ respiratory / digestive and reproductive. Sheeps brain and pigs heart as well as a cow eye. For physiology we had a frog in which we dissected its gastrocnemious muscle as well as a heart dissection in a different lab and We used rats for a digestive system lab

cow eye and sheep brain

Sheep's brain, cow eye, and fetal pig. We also did a heart just can't remember what animal it came from.

I'm so jealous. We didn't get to dissect anything in any of my prerequisites. :/

We had cats that had been euthanized in shelters. :( As an animal advocate it was rather heartbreaking. People were like "They gave their lives for science." Um no, they didn't, they were murdered because somewhere along the line some ignorant jerk didn't spay/neuter their cat/s. I would prefer the human cadaver, who did in fact donate their body for the purpose of study. That's just me, and this is why I am not a veterinarian. But you do it, regardless of whatever they put in front of you to study, because that's why you are there.[/quote']

Me and you are exactly alike. I spend so much time promoting spaying and neutering of pets, and adopting rather than buying. People really don't understand the repercussions of their actions. Or they don't care. ):

Btw we haven't dissected anything yet.

Cats. And I hated it because I'm a cat lover. I disagree with animal dissection in general, and this particular animal made for a miserable 2 semesters.
