I see a lot of posts here struggling with chemistry, I was wondering what chemistry class you had to take for prenursing? I ended up taking biochem for health, but it seems easier then the chemistry class you guys are taking.

Are you taking general chem?

I took general chemistry but the school I am transferring to for nursing school required allied health chemistry so I am taking that now. It is much easier than general chemistry but really disorganized & I dislike chem a lot anyways.

Did you guys have to take General Chemistry 1 AND 2? Or just one?

my school requires either gen chem one and 2 or just inorganic biochem- inorganic bio chem is much easier than gen chem 1 and 2, both in lecture and lab

We have to take Intro to General, Organic, and Biochem. The course encompasses all three in one semester so we'd spend ~2 months on each section! So much info but still passed :D

I had taken Chemistry of Materials I & II while pursuing a previous degree I didn't finish. My nursing program accepted that rather than make me take Gen. Chem. I had also taken AP Chem in high school and that was sufficient as well.

Is HESI like TEAS?

For me, I felt like my biochem class was easy.

I have heard that the TEASE is more in depth..or as some people say harder than the HESI

Intro to Chemistry, very easy!

We needed high school chem but I am taking a general entry level chem for OU. It sucks because the teacher doesn't have exp teaching chem.

I am in California and as a prereq for Anat & Physio an intro to general chemistry what is required at the schools near my in So Cal. When I was in Nor Cal the prereq chem class was a combined general, organic, & biochemistry class. Also for CSU nursing programs there is an organic chem requirement. That is what I will be tackling this fall semester, organic chem. Not excited about it. lol

Specializes in Aesthetics, Med/Surg, Outpatient.
My Chem requirement was a mixture- it was called Survey of General Organic and Biochemistry[/i'].

Same here... I also did Gen Chem 1 as a pre-req to it

Specializes in ICU.

I took inorganic chem and bio-chem. I am taking organic chemistry next semester.
