University of the Virgin Islands??

I was thinking of attending University of the Virgin Islands. I was wondering if anybody here is thinking about it, or nobody somebody that did.

Hi I have decided to go down there in January for the Spring 2010. Is that when you were planning on going? Maybe we can talk a little about thoughts about moving there and the school?

Camille I wish you the best I hope everything works out for you. I am going to think about it for a few more days. Ys I am supposed to be attending for the Spring of 2010. I think I will send in the deposits for both admission and for the dorm room because I want to secure my seat and housing. If things dont work out for me they can just postpone my enrollment. But I really really want to go.

She did not get housing and that caused some problems. If you need housing I would send the $100 deposit in today to get on the list. She is currently #34 on the waiting list. She is living in a guest house about 3 miles from campus. If you would like more info on that let me know.

Her first few days have been OK, I think once she make some friends it will be better for her.

Thanks I would appreciate it. Because she didnt get housing, how were you able to allocate a place for her to live. I had also read somewhere that because the school was short on housing they made a deal with a hotel that allowed students to live there for a little over what dorm room student are paying. Do you know how true that is or is that how your daughter got housing?

I did the same and put my deposit in for both places. I am kind of an adventurer so have decided to give it a shot and get the show on the road. I will be coming all the way from Wyoming. What about yourself? What is your standing, do you have any of the first and second semester classes done? I do, therefore I will just be taking the NURS 120 class and a Chem class the spring semester, then will dive into the nursing curriculum in the fall. My daughter stays in a guest house in Charlotte Amalie, they range from 185-250 per week and it is walking distance from the safari. How close you are to the safari seems to be very important, they run all the time and my daugther has been getting around every where.

I applied to the BSN program at UVI and I should be starting classes this upcoming spring. I just want to continue my studies and get a degree in nursing. I'm already an LPN and I have a ton of hospital experience. If you want to advance in nursing, you have to have a college degree and be an RN. LPNs have no opportunities anymore. I'm looking forward to going to school in the virgin islands. I'm ready to go..

I am looking into UVI for Fall 2010 or Spring 2011. Do any of you have any thoughts on this school? How is the culture? How is the program? Thanks!

I just applied to the BSN program starting this fall 2010. I am coming from Santa Barbara, CA. I would really appreciate any info from students there or anyone considering going too! It seems like a bit of an adventure but the waitlists here are so ridiculous and I would prefer to get away from California but stay coastal :) Plus at this point I just want to get it done! Any firsthand info would be awesome.

Hi! I am also looking into this school. Just got my umpteenth rejection letter from my #1 school, and it is getting so frustrating!Going on two years, and no luck yet getting in...

Hi, I'm a junior in High School and the one college that I have wanted to go to now for a while has been University of the Virgin Islands. I obviously would be going to become a nurse but I live in MA and going far away to a place where I've only been for vacation seems like a great idea now but what will actually happen? If any one attending UVI would please contact me reply or something because I would LOVE to know more about the college and the experience you get going so far away. PLEASE help me!!!

Do you like it there? I'm looking to apply there and am just nervous that I wont like the big change seeing I'm from MA and will be very far away from home. I'm nervous that its almost too far.
