Still accepted?

  1. Friday night I found out that I was provisionally accepted into an LPN program. The letter doesn't state what the provisions are, so I googled around to see if anyone else had questions about it. Some say it's because you're waitlisted, or due to needing to pass a class.

I just withdrew from A&P2 at my current cc (different from the LPN school), so my question is would I still be accepted into the LPN program or does this pose a problem?

If it's a prereq for the LPN program, there's a good chance that it'll be a problem. I'd talk to an advisor to get the specifics on your school. Some don't require A&P, but instead have their own equivalent to it. So it can go either way right now without knowing the school.

Provisionally accepted means you were accepted. But it's never official at any school until you're done all your classes, still meet their requirements, and get cleared for clinicals. The provisionally means that if you don't do one of those, you lose your acceptance.

Thank you! I've worried myself sick about this lol. Hopefully I can get through to my advisor tomorrow

Provisionally means you have been accepted. They will provide a list of other things you need to do before you start the program. Things like vaccines, cpr card, background check, etc. They may mail that to you with the letter, or possibly provide it during orientation and give you a date to complete it all by. If those additional requirements are not done by a provided date, your spot gets forfeited to the next in line (waitlist).

As for the A&P class being dropped. What does it say in the application? Does it say it must be completed before you enter into the program? If that was a requirement in order to apply or enter the program, then yeah, that will probably be an issue. I would read through all the info online that your school provides regarding pre-reqs and entering the program. Also, of course, call your advisor or the nursing department asap.

Wish you all the best <3

My advisor said it's related to the drug screen and background check. CPR, health, and dental due dates will be given later. For A&P2, I can take the class while in the program. Thank you!
