Should have started sooner

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello All Nurses! I am new to this site and thought I would start my first post. I am 27 and I have decided to go back to school after 6 years. I am excited to start my journey of becoming a nurse. I have been feeling like I am so old and having such regrets for taking so long to go back to school. My question is to all of you on the journey with me, Does the feeling of being too old, and regrets of not finishing sooner go away once I start college?

Thanks for reading and I would love to hear some of your Pre-Nursing Stories :D

43 here and just finishing up my first semester of pre-reqs part time. Hoping to have them done by next summer and be able to apply to the A.S. R.N. program. And MommaTy is right... some of us don't figure out what we want or how to get it until later in life. Good luck to all of us!

I got a late start too. I am 27 (almost 28) and just recently finished my pre-reqs for nursing school. Next month (May 21) I take my HESI A2 exam...so if I do good on the exam and get accepted, then I will start nursing school in the fall. I wish I would have went to college straight out of high school, but having a child and many other things in my life had prevented me from starting right away. It is never too late to start and to follow your dreams! :)

Do not feel bad for pursuing your dreams older than you would have liked. Life happens! I started to feel the same way you do until I started a thread on here and got so many amazing and encouraging responses. I am younger than you, but I am not fresh out of high school either. 215? Are you from Philly? I am originally from south Jersey so I recognized the area code right away :p.
