Passed the TEAS, but disappointed

Hey everyone,

Well, according to my school's cut-offs, I passed the TEAS this morning but I didn't do as well as I thought I would. There were 4 math questions that were the same basic question changed around - but it was a type of problem that was not in either study guide that I bought (both from ATI) :angryfire There was a grammar question that 2/4 of the possible answers were identical, and none of them were right - as if to say one of the 2 identical ones was supposed to be something else.... Oh well. I passed and I can take it again in 30 days if I choose to.

Here is my question now - everyone talks about their 'percentile rank' - there are (2) different ones on the results page. Which one are you referring to - your 'individual percentile rank - national' or individual percentile rank - program'? My school doesn't go by that. Whatever your score is they give you that # of points.

Anyway - thanks to those who encouraged me. I am meeting with the admissions guy on Tuesday to confirm that my file is now complete and see what his opinion is about retesting.

Mandee - hope you did well...Let us know :)

I took the HESI this week and I was(am) in the same boat as you! I really thought I would of done a whole lot better. And I bought the book and it really didnt help me. I now just have to be patience and wait for the outcome...

Dont stress yourself out!!!

Traci,

You got your results already??? How cool is that? I just took mine this morning too. I think that I did okay, or at least I hope I did okay. I won't get my results until 5 pm today at the earliest, or 5 pm on Monday at the latest, but I'll post my results as soon as I can. I'm sure that you did awesome, but at least you get to take it again if you want to improve your score. My application is due Feb. 15, so this was my one and only shot at the test. Good luck with your meeting on Tuesday!!!

Yes. When I finished, the results came up instantly. I guess I assumed everyone got their's right away. Man - having to wait stinks! Let me know - though I am sure you did great, too!! I ended up with a total score of 84.1%. My school then converts that to 84.1 raw points and adds it to my class points of 176. I would like to get it a little higher. The total possible points for both TEAS/Class pts is 276. Right now I have 260.1 - looking at it like that it doesn't seem so bad.

Anyway - anxiously awaiting your wonderful score!

I agree with Mandee, just be glad you can take it again. If I make the minimum (50%) my school will not let me take it again.

I am not taking that TEAS test, but I do have to take the HESI like you Colorado. I am scheduled to take mine on Monday. Not really sure what to expect, but I'm going to go in running......:chuckle

I have the study guide and I am studying like crazy. Like some of you others this is my only chance to take this test until the Fall. You should be happy Traci, you do get another chance. When you added your score up it did look pretty good, way to go........ . I'm not sure how long it takes to get the results of my test. It is online and all of their other online tests were scored immediately. That's a good and bad thing, but it does take away the guess work. So, when I do find out that I passed I will let you all know.

Thank you all for helping me put things in perspective.

:o I apologize if I sounded insensitive to the fact that some of you can only take your exams once. I wish you all the best on your upcoming exams.

Traci,

I'm not speaking for anyone else, but I didn't take your comment as you being insensitve. I'm only soooooo jealous! I haven't been able to check my results on the TEAS yet. We had to take our tests on scantrons, then the schools faxes them to the company, and ATI posts the results online. It can take up to 48 business hours. I hate waiting, but I better get used to it. I'll have to wait until April to find out if I'm actually accepted into the program. I've never been patient.

Thanks, Mandee - I appreciate it. As for your test - I didn't realize that was how you took it. We go to our 'testing center' and they actually had us log in to ATI's web-site and we took the test on the computer right there. So that is why my results were instant. I am sorry you have to wait. I am praying for good results for you. I can't wait to hear how well you did!

Our application deadline is March 9th. They say we will receive acceptance/decline letters on or about May 26th. So, you got me beat in that area ;)

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hey Everyone!

My test results finally came in this morning. My score was 88.8%. It's in the 99th percentile nationally, and in the 98th percentile for my program, so I hope that's good enough to get in. My school awards 4 points for GPA (science prerequisites), 2 more points for GPA (g.e. prerequisites), and 2 points for the TEAS. I have a 4.0 GPA, but . . . I have one course in progress (Intro. Organic and Biochemisty) which will be calculated as a C into my GPA. I haven't really figured out what that will do to my GPA, but I hope it doesn't do too much damage. Oh well, I can't worry about all of this too much, school starts tomorrow for me. Good luck to everyone this semester . . . with school, applications, waiting for acceptance letters, etc.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wow - that is great!! I am sorry it took me so long to respond - it didn't email me like usual to tell me there was a post. I thought about it this morning and came here - and look!! GOOD FOR YOU! Keep in touch, Mandee, and let me know how things go. I am meeting with the admissions counselor today to determine if my 84 is okay, or if I should retake it. I am very happy for you!!
