I Passed!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I took the Hesi test (pre-nursing enterance exam) yesterday. I was so nervous. The test score carries almost equal weight to our GPA, as far as placement on the list to get into the nursing program.

I got a 96%. I was hoping for 98%, but I still think that is pretty good. I scored 100% on the math, which was surprise to me.

I don't know if this will help me overcome my current gpa deficit (3.5) so I can get in to the program a year early. If I don't get in, I am going to redo the classes I have B's in (from over 10 years ago) and hopefully have a straight 4.0. My GPA would be higher, if they hadn't cut the Sociology requirement and counted the Intro to Psych class that everyone has to take anyway- both of which I got A's in.

I still think there is a possibility I could get in!! *fingers crossed*

Specializes in Operating Room.

I am soooooo excited & nervous, you're right! lol

Just about 12 days left now!

I took MicroSUX! in a Maymester/Summer I session, which was a total of 8 weeks. It was hard, but I managed to get an A! My instructor wanted to cover EVERYTHING in the book!!! Hopefully, your's will only lecture & test on the most important things!

Good luck getting in, let us know! :)

Fun2Care, you must be so excited and nervous waiting to hear. I noticed you 19 days until... countdown in your sig line. It sounds like you are a strong contender, so hopefully you are right there in their top 10% choice. GOOD LUCK to you too!!!

I'm not looking forward to cramming Microbiology in a summer session. :chuckle

Specializes in Med/Surg, Hospice.

In 12 days I will be on here waiting to hear from you!

Thanks! :kiss It may take longer than 12 days, though. October 15th is when the school is supposed to mail out the letters, if not before. That's a Saturday, so hopefully by Monday or Tuesday (17th/18th), I'll know something!!! :)

WOOOO HOOOOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :yelclap: :yelclap: :yelclap: :smiley_aa :smiley_aa :smiley_aa :w00t:

yep, I took the test the same day you did, that's why I was curious if you were going to the same school. Is this your first time apply?

What a small world!!! You don't happen to be in my A&P 1 class do you? What side of the testing room did you sit on?

Yes, this is my first year applying. I wasn't going to apply this year, until they told us at the ADN advising session that we could use highschool chem with no time limit but this was the last year and that they only count up the gpa of the classes that count on the application- so I could safely transfer my old credits. So I am taking a chance- *fingers crossed* So many people are trying to get in though, it seems every class is half nursing hopefuls. I have no doubt I will get in the '07, but I am not sure they will put me in for '06.

I'm living vicariously through your anticipation, since I have until February to find out. :chuckle Kind of like when I used to hang out on pregnancy forums during my last two pregnancies. I was always due at the end of the month, and I would live vicariously through the moms who were having their babies. LOL! Happy and excited for them... and a tad jealous too. ;)

:clown: Hey I been on the pregnancy forum before as well!

I sat in the back of the room. This is my second time applying. I was on the wait list last year and wasn't called. Came pretty close but not close enough. I have my fingers crossed for you. I'm done with my A& Ps I'm taking Micro right now. Who do you have for A&P 1?

I sat at the back also, next to that big post.

I have Carlson for A&P. He is a really nice guy. I can tell he just loves science and has reams of knowledge. Unfortunately, he tends to drag on and on with the lectures and they kind of meander. I had Lyttle for Biology and I should have taken his A&P class this semester. He was less affable, but his teaching style was to the point but it complemented my learning style more.

I hope you get into the program this year. I heard that enrollment at the college is down due to the tuition increase, so maybe that will translate to the nursing program as well.
