Hi Ya'll! Any new pre-nursing students?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

hello, are there any pre nursing students here that would like to dicuss anything? i would like to but it seems nobody wants to reply to anything....i know ya'll are out there :lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:  what classes are you taking, how is it? :clown:

I guess you could call me a pre-nursing student :) I'm working on an Anthropology degree and then I will go into a nursing program (hopefully). My husband is in the military so my path is not as straight as others.

I've taken Chem, Micro, and Developmental Psych...This semester is Statistics and in the future I'll be taking Organic Chem, Nutrition, and A&P.

I'm really excited about it but since we don't know where we'll be moving next it's hard to know which classes I need.

What classes are you taking?

Specializes in Telemetry, Cardiac Step-Down.

Hi loulou! I'm a pre-nursing student too :) I've already taken A&P I, Government, Comp 1 and Algebra, and I've already finished my Chem and all of my History classes. Next semester I'm taking A&P II, Psychology, Nutrition, and Quantitative Literacy. Since this is my first degree, I have to start from the ground up!

I'm SUPER excited and impatient about finishing the next 3 semesters so that I can begin Nursing School. How far away are you? What classes are you taking?

Thats great! Are you trying to go for LPN or RN? I'm going for my LPN and I need Eng 111, A&P 1 & 2, Intro to pys. Ive gotta take my math classes too which arent a pre-req but are I guess classes I do need. IDK, I meet with an advisor tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about starting and getting all these outta the way! :D

Hola ambrekai!!!! How was A&PI? What would you recommend for online? I guess your going for RN? :nurse:

A&PI was hard, but I studied nonstop so I ended up with over 100% in the class (my teacher curved slightly). I loved it!! I definitely would NOT take it online, but that's just me. I'm actually taking Nutrition online this upcoming semester, and it'll be the first class that I take online ever, so I'm curious as to how that'll turn out.

I would probably take math, english, history and government courses online. As for the science pre-reqs, I'd be scared to!

Yeah, I'm going for my RN, BSN. :yeah:

A&P 2 Final tomorrow. Start Micro in a few weeks (fall). That's it for me. Nothing left to take.

I'm going for an RN, accelerated BSN.

Do either of your programs require volunteer or paid experience? One of the programs where we might end up requires this and I'm struggling figuring out what to do and what would qualify.

I've heard a lot of nursing programs are starting to require this now. I actually just started a CNA class a week ago; it lasts 8 weeks and then I'll be able to get my certificate as a CNA and start working! Maybe this would work for the program you want to go into? :)

I actually thought about doing something like this but the classes would conflict with my anthropology classes...I've looked into phlebotomy and nursing assistant and they conflicted as well...Maybe they'll have something next summer that I can take.

Good luck with your class!

Yeah thankfully this class doesn't overlap or conflict with my course schedule next semester, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it either.

And, thank you!

Specializes in CNA/LPN.

Hey everyone! I'm also new and still in pre-reqs! I'm really enjoying my time and loving the fact that I'm actually focused (unlike my high school days!) - it's amazing what a couple of years can do. I've taken College Mathematics, Writing, SCT100, now I just have A&P and Psychology left, then I'm done with all of the pre-reqs that's required of me. So thrilled to get the fall semester over with to see if I can be lucky enough to squeeze into the LPN program in January-entry like I'm truly hoping! I'm also taking the PSB in October. Kinda nervous on that one, and I feel it's not so much that I don't believe I'll pass - it's just the fact of that minimum score you have to meet to even be considered for selection...I'm thinking too much on "what if I bomb this test and can't get in as soon as I would have been able to?!" - It's just the type of person I am. LOL - anywho, as a new student, I also wish all of my fellow pre-nursing students the best of luck!
