Fresno City College RN program

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi Nurses and future nurses! I will be starting the nursing program at Fresno City College this summer 2015. Does anyone here knows what the program schedule in the summer is like? And any word of advice to keep afloat in the program. Thank you.

Hello, I am not in the RN program yet but I am currently taking my prereqs to get in at Fresno City. I'm just curious, did you have to wait a long time in the lottery to get in? What was the TEAS test like?

@futureLVN40 Hello there! I did not have to wait long. I've actually been out of school for awhile and decided that I wanted a change in career so I applied for the RN program last year Jan 2014 and found out that I will be starting this summer. Although, it is my friend 6th time in the lottery so I believe the selection is truly random. Hopefully you get in soon too after your LVN. The TEAS was a challenge for me but if you take it right after all your core classes I believe you should do just fine, but that doesn't mean you do not need to study. I am a horrible test taker (major anxiety), so I study a month in advance prior to the test. Each week I would try to get through a section/subject in the TEAS V book. Hopefully that helps you out a little. :)

Hello :) i just got accepted into the fall 2015 nursing program at Fresno city college! Iam aware that youve already had your orientation and I was wondering if you knew how the fall 2015 semester functions in terms of how many people get selected to go to summer school? also, how was the orientation like?

thanks :)

During my last semester there, faculty was discussing what they were planning on doing with the next summer cohort. It actually may be taken off completely. Its best not to even think about it right now since they are probably undecided on what they can do--- Its not just up to faculty, but also facilities that are willing to host students for summer clinicals.
