Drexel ACE '07 Students!!!!

  1. Hi, just wanted to make a post for all those entering Drexel's ACE in 2007. I'm excited about going into the program, but like many others I am unfamiliar with the campus and the people, so I made this post so we can share our experiences and get to know each other before Fall.

So, post away Class of 2008!!!

Hi Stiquinzzle - Will you be commuting or finding housing close to school? I'll be taking Septa in from the burbs everyday. I, too, am not very familiar with the campus. I've been to campus once for an info. session, but plan on taking a full day down there when the weather gets nicer to familiarize myself.

I tried to start a thread just like this about 2 months ago, but nobody replied! I know there are a handful of us on this site, though, that will be starting in Fall '07. Hopefully we'll hear from some current students, as well.

    It's our transportation system

Septa's a bus and train system that can be used to travel locally within the city or regionally from the suburbs to the city and vice versa. It can be pretty convenient.

    Hey all,

I'm trying to get this post back up since we're getting closer to September. I am going to be living in Stiles Apts. right next to the hospital. I think the best thing for me to do is to move in early so I can get settled before the program starts. Is anyone else moving in early also? I think I'm going to need to buy some furniture for my bare apt... =(

If anyone wants to talk about entering the program my AIM sn is stk776 and my e-mail is stkwan18@yahoo.com . See you soon guys.

I too am starting in September.
I have heard mixed things about the program. I have heard that it is crazy intense, the first quarter isn't too bad, but the rest are tough. I've heard that they have a tendency to be a little unorganized. I've heard the clinical uniforms are hideous.
But I have also heard that it is a very rewarding program. If you look at it in the grand scheme of things, its 11 months of hard work, dedication, and lots of studying, to have a rewarding job to look forward to after.
From what I hear, its very time consuming, so you can kiss your personal life goodbye. But like I said 11 months isn't so bad when you look at the big picture.
Ofcourse my view of the program can/may change greatly once I am in the program.
I am taking off work all of September to prepare mentally, socially, and physically for the program. I have a good support system of friends who are very understanding. And I have a good handful of friends in the medical field who have offered to help me with any clarification that I need on anything.
My biggest struggle will be time management. I have t be able and willing to pull myself away from my personal life in order to dedicate the time and braincells needed for studying and retaining information.
    Okay. I'm blabbering now.

I have never been to campus. I am thinking about taking a trip down there later this week to change my last name (3 month newlywed). I will probably hangout a bit and scope it out.

If anyoen wants to meet up for lunch let me know!
