Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?

I am thinking we will get it either Monday or Tuesday. I would be happy to get it on Saturday because I don't want to have to go through the whole weekend to wait. We don't get our mail till around 3 pm. I am getting so nervous!! I was talking to a professor here at Eastfield who has been around for a long time and knows a lot about nursing and the schools and he said that El Centro has a HUGE dropout rate because it is so hard. THey do have a high percentage of people who pass the NCLEX but in reality most people who go into the program drops because it is really hard. Something else to add on to my stress.

They do have a huge drop out rate and the program is a toughy.

It does have an EXCELLENT reputation though.

Where is that mailman? It's 11am! I wonder if I will have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday since I am in Indiana???? AHHHHH!

I just got back from speaking with the extremely friendly PR person working the front desk in the health occ. office at El Centro (and yes I am being sarcastic about her being even remotely friendly). I told her that sometimes my mail messes up things from El Centro as I have been a student there for a couple of years and, yes, that is true. I never got my degree plan or my library information. I did get the rejection letter last year though..but that was a different address...

ANYWAY....she said they are going to mail them Friday night and not to have anyone else come ask about them (like I have control over everyone haha). I don't know why she was so rude about it, but at least she gave me some kind of idea. She said if I didn't get anything by the end of next week then I need to come see them to find out. It was so hard not to be sassy with her but I don't know how much say-so she has in the acceptance process and until I get my letter I just need to hush!

I just wanted to let everyone know what she told me. She may be totally wrong but I wanted to pass some kind of information along... it sucks because sending it out Friday night would put it in our mailboxes by Monday or Tuesday........I waited this long so I think I could wait a little longer... I really hate the thought of going through another weekend!!

Yes, they are a "cheerful" bunch in that office aren't they! lol

At least we know it will go out in Friday's mail.

:chuckle I'm sure they're overworked, underpaid, and have 300+ inquiries every day. LOL

Seriously, I'm sure I'll get my letter on Monday...while I'm at school... ugggggh lol

Exactly! ....Maybe I should wait until Thursday after my last chemistry exam to check the mail.

Thanks for the detective work FaceInBooks! It is nice just to hear SOMETHING!

I've sent local mail and the recipient often receives the mail on the next day. I know that would be too good to be true in this case, but it's nice to dream.

I don't know about ya'll, but time is really creeping by super slow for me at this point. I try not to think about it, but I really do not want to study for my current classes, go to work, or do anything but FIND OUT IF I MADE IT!!!!!

Good luck to all of you waiting on acceptance letters. I try to check this thread everyday to see if they have been received yet. I know it seems like an eternity. I am NOT looking forward to the wait. My time comes in April.

No, I am in Georgia. I have applied at 2 universities, so hopefully I will get into one. I just went through the "waiting phase" with a very good friend. It sucked, every day waiting on the mail. Her letter was actually mailed a couple of weeks after it was suppose to be mailed. So, she was a nervous wreck.

I am just excited for each and every person that gets accepted! I know how hard the work is!!!!!!!!!

I would go INSANE if my letter is two weeks late! :eek: If I don't get it by 10 AM on Friday, October 21st, I am calling the school! :cool: That's giving the ol' mailman a week to cough up my letter! :roll

Yes, I am really hoping we will get them Saturday. A friend of mine that works at the main post office said that if they are delivered Friday night to the main office off of I-30 then we will more than likely get them on Saturday. I am really really hoping for that!!! I don't live too far from the main post office and I told her I would be more than willing to pick up my letter as soon as the school dropped it off to save them time and hassle ;)

This week is the SLOWEST week ever. :uhoh3:
