gotta vent really quick guys but i got a book list for 1 of my classes (into to prof nursing) and it called for 10 books! just for one class! I went to half.com and found all of them and it equaled up to be $250 for just one class! i thought this was ridiculous. Did you guys have to shell out so much for just this class?

Check out the website www.fetchbook.info This website is a search engine of all the websites like ebay, amazon, half, etc. and it finds the cheapest price available online for that book. You can search books by keyword, title, author, and isbn #. This website has saved me alot of money. This is a website every college student should know regardless of their majors!

You can rent your books on chegg.com it's a life saver you can rent them for the entire semester for like 1/3 of the cost. It cut down my intro to nursing book cost down to like 120 bucks for everything.

I took Intro to nursing last fall at a 4 yr school and the cost of used books from the bookstore was about $450. I purchased all 7 books from amazon.com brand new for $250. We also had to purchase a nursing kit which was I believe $145

Amazon had the Fundamentals of Nursing book for like $68 brand new. The book store was charging I believe $125.

Out of the 7 books we were REQUIRED to buy, I only used 1...The Fundamentals of Nursing book!

Now, I have to take fundamentals of nursing over and pharmacology starting Aug 17th since I'm at a different school. We are required to purchase a bundle of books for my pharmacology class...would you believe the bundle is like $245...for 3 books! Ridiculous!!!

I guess we really shouldn't complain though...textbooks for medical school are like $800 for ONE book!

I recommend purchasing the books from either amazon.com or half.com...they seem to have the best deals. Or you could try like a local bookstore in your hometown that sells and buys back college textbooks.

Good luck to everyone!

My books are costing me $500 for my first semester of nursing class. Most of them are used and only two are new. I consider myself lucky thought it was going to be more. Although we do use most of these books throughout the program.

$245 for three books?! Haha that's the amount I am paying for just my Spanish class, for 1 book! My anatomy class alone is over $300 for 2!

at my school first semester books are $1000....they just hand you a cardboard box as the bundle....smh

It's not unusual for a textbook to be 100$ or more; reference books (Tabers, lab handbook, drug handbook) to be in the 60-80 dollar range. BUT, the reference books are important... you only have to buy those once. I wanted to keep my own books for several years after school, and updated the ones that went with what I was working at the time.... the net is good for a lot, but sometimes, it's a lot easier to grab a lab handbook and just look it up :)
