Last night I took my Chem final. I have been rocking along all semester with an A then boom, I bombed the final. Has anyone ever done this? I knew the info. I just bombed. Wow , there goes my A . SOOOOOOOOO depressing.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I know it must be difficult for you to take. The final is usually harder than the other exams. Last semester, when I took A&P 2, I had a 94 average before the final. I got a 70 and ended with a B+, I was disappointed, but I did better than 85% of the class. Hopefully you will still get at least a B. Good luck to you.
Thanks for the responses. Yes, I will end up with a B. I only needed 20 points on the final to get a B. I was just so close to an "A". Hey, maybe she will curve it!!!

That totally sucks! I know a lot of times when I think I did horribly, I actually didn't do as bad as I had imagined. Hopefully it's the same with you! I'm sorry you're not feeling too good about it, though

I have been studying my butt off for my chem final that is today, its worth 200pts of our grade we only had 4 tests he dropped one so its more then half of our test grades. I have also heard his final is nothing like the things we went over for our tests, so I have been trying despertly to keep up with this for todays however I am still really nervous. I feel like I know the material inside and out which doesn't matter for this guy its all about tricky m/c questions that nearly everyone bombs, he does curve the final grade because his class average is usually about 50% for all the tests. I think I figured I need 115 out of the 200 to keep my A but we shall see.
I hope maybe your teacher will end up curving it, another poster on the chem folder said she thought she bombed it because it was so hard too but teacher did end up curving and she kept her A.

I have always had a difficult time with cumulative finals, so I made sure to work my tail off for high scores throughout the semester to make up for it. It IS depressing to watch all of your hard work not result in the A, but it sound like you will still receive a fantastic grade! Even with my weakness for finals I still never received a grade lower than a B, and I bombed a few along the way! Keep your head up!
The final was as hard as I imagined and harder it will be about a week before I even get my score. Nothing I can do about it now except breath a sigh of relief that its over.

I just had mine today and had an A+ average. But between this final and lab final I might end up with a B. It is just so frustrating to do so well and them bomb it. I am just not a good comprehensive test taker. Also on this exam today, there were some stuff I just don't think we covered. Why can't it just be the basics . . . to know that we know how to do the basics and no tricks!!
Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Actually it happened to me last year, but the class was Freshman Composition. I was the top writer in my class, yet I was the only one who bombed the final. My professor told me he was shocked and couldn't believe it. I think I panicked during the exam even when I didn't need to. I also put too much pressure on myself. All in all, even though I got a B in the class, it pushed me to do better next time.
Ernestine,
That is exactly what happened to me! Even my professot was like WHAT HAPPENED? Thanks for the post

I think that other poster was me. My chem final that I thought I bombed was worth 200 points also. Hang in there. I think we usually do better than we think on these exams. It's the waiting that is the killer.
