Hey there!

I wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to the winter 2018 cohort.

With 10 points, an overall GPA of 3.8, and a TEAS score of 91.3% I applied for the fall 2017 cohort and got waitlisted. I'm currently number 13 on the waitlist and it is unlikely that I'll get accepted in to the fall program, so I've also applied for the winter 2018 program.

I emailed the program manager today and she said that there were 120 applicants for winter, but they're still sorting through all of the applications to see if everyone has a "viable application." She also mentioned that she hopes to have everyone notified of their status for winter by the end of August.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Has anyone received news yet? I was wait listed for fall, and I asked my application to be rolled over to winter. No email, no letter. I fear the delay in my notification proves to be a grim sign.

Best of luck to all who get/got in! I needed to raise my 84% TEAS score I think, to become a more competitive applicant, particularly because I have minimal work experience as an NAC. High GPAs seem to come easy to those applying for this program! Congrats to all you motivated people for making it this far! best of luck in your endeavors.

Hey Tiffany! As far as I know, the notices have not been sent yet. I spoke to Jorja last week and she said they weren't sent out yet. The BC nursing website also says that notifications will be delayed until this week.

I was also waitlisted for Fall and I'm also getting really nervous.

Keep us posted if you hear anything!

Hi Tiffany,

They posted on the website last Friday that results were going to be delayed until the week of September 5th. So... don't stress about not hearing anything. How many total points did you have for your application? I heard 9 people got into fall cohort off of the fall waitlist!

I just received an email from Jorja, I was accepted into winter cohort!!!! Check your regular and BC email! I hope you guys got in!

Taylor, what time did you get your email? I haven't gotten anything yet. I wonder if it is a mass sent email or individual?

Also, do you mind sharing your TEAS score, GPA and points?

I received it about 4:30pm. From the format of the email, it looks like a mass email. My cumulative GPA was 3.77, my science GPA was 3.925, and my TEAs score was 80.7. I had 3 points in the pre-admission experience. My total points were 11 as I calculated, however, the email doesn't actually tell you how many they gave you. I can also let you know the averages of the individuals who were accepted into winter if you'd like? The email I received has them listed all out. Thank you so much! I really hope you can get in as well.

I probably (hopefully) have been waitlisted again since I haven't seen an e-mail. Really hope I get in this quarter!

These are the averages of those who were accepted: overall points 12.28, cum GPA 3.69, science GPA 3.73, TEAs 85.78, compass 10.00, writeplacer 6.63, pre-admission experience points 4.00. Hopefully that is helpful! It also mentions how ties are broken... first by science GPA then if there is still a tie they use the TEAs score. I'm sure you already knew that. I'm sorry you didn't get an email this afternoon, I'm hopeful that you will get in off the waitlist so we can go through nursing school together.

Thanks for all of the info! I'll be keeping an eye out for a letter over the next few days. Hoping that I've placed higher on the waitlist than I did last time.

I did not. I may have to take it as a blessing in disguise ... I found out today that I am pregnant! Hence my impeccable timing with seeking an update.

I already have two kiddos, so my hands are definitely tied. Spring cohort is a ten quarter option; perhaps that would be a better choice for me at this point. However it looks like that application was due September 1...? So who knows what I'll do! I'm guessing if there is option to roll application over to next cohort, it would be for fall 2018, the next available six-quarter program.
