I'm my opinion, A&P is the class that defines who will advance in nursing school and who will not. It is the class that sets the example of how you will need to study and prepare to succeed in nursing school. I received A's in both courses- I studied 20-30 hours per week depending on if it were a test week or not. If you are putting in the adequate study time you will succeed. My BSN program had over 400 students enrolled before A&P- we lost half after. Eventually only 70 of us graduated. Not trying to scare you, but this is the reality- you must work hard and then work even harder. Good luck.

I would retake it - a C is not going to slide imo. Take it again and study a lot more.

See this is exactly what I was saying OP. Including myself, sometimes no matter how bad we want things we can't have them. I'm not saying you can't, I'm just saying you gotta study more.

Well a B is a big difference from a C. Don't retake it unless you have to in that case.

Depends on the school you want to get into, but anything grade of C or above is passing. I know plenty of people who had 2.5-3.0 GPAs who have become RNs either ADN or BSN. However, more competitive schools like where I live in southern California, a single B in the big 4 Anatomy/Physiology/Micro/Chem can put you at risk of not getting into a program. I have a 4.0 and didn't get into the nursing program, and am reapplying next semester.

I also just want to note that every school's Anatomy and Physiology class varies vastly in difficulty. Sure, it's probably "difficult" at all schools. But I'm sure it still varies. A friend of mine took it at one public university, studied an hour a night, and got an A with flying colors. She had to retake it at our public university, and she struggled to the end, studying many hours per day, and barely scraped out an A. And she had taken it before!

Don't judge those who have had to study more or less. Not only does it depend on the type of learner you are, but also where you attend/your professor.

I should also add... I probably studied 3-4 hours a night (minimum) and even more the week before exams. I fought hard for my A, although it may have come easier to others.

Don't compare yourself. You know what you're capable of Your chances in nursing school depend completely on your schools & location.

There is no need to retake it in my opinion, there are some people who can Ace all the core requirements and struggle through the program, I am currently in a nursing program and it's all about critical thinking. :-)
