Abnormal Psych or Nutrition?

Which is easier? I'll be taking A&PII concurrently. I feel more interested in Nutrition (since I've recently CLEPed Psych, Dev Psych I, and am currently taking Dev Psych II). Neither of these course are required for the ADN program I'm applying to but are required for a second Bachelor's that I'm hoping to apply for. So if I ended up changing my mind and not taking the second of the two, I would have preferred to have taken nutrition... but I'm hoping that I will take both and go for the BSN. :) I'm guessing Abnormal Psych may be 'easier', plus it's with the prof I currently have so I know what to expect. Any opinions?

Hi There,

Well you might guess what I suggest by my user name... :) Seriously, go with what interests you. In my BSN program, we don't take advance psych until our last rotation our senior year. Also, check w/ the University that you may want to go to for your BSN to see if there is a time limit on courses. For example, my statistics course must be taken within 5 years, if later than I will have to retake. Personally, I love psych and I would go that route. The only psych course that was required for admittance was just the basic psych 101 because mental health is taught in the College of Nursing the senior year.

If your college ranks you by GPA (like mine) and your grades are not the best, than it may be better to take a course that would get you an "easy A". But follow your heart... if you enjoy nutrition (which is very vital in nursing) then go for it! :)

I would take the abnormal pysch. if you think it's easier. Why stress yourself out. It will help you when you get to your pysch rotation.

Nutrition may cover areas of A&P you haven't covered yet, such as energy cycles and the digestive system and organs, so I would take A&P first before taking Nutrition, which is more involved with A&P and Chemistry than you might think. A&P in my program was a pre-req to Nutrition.

I took both over the years and found both challenging and interesting. But since you asked which was easier, I'd say in my experience the Abn. Pych. was easier.

Good luck in whatever you do.

Warning: All nutrition classes are NOT equal. :crying2: My dd found out the hard way...she nearly needed organic to get through her nutrition course.

I have yet to find someone who loves Krebs....:rotfl:
