I also completely ran out of notecards and ended up just having to wing it for the rest of them. And that doesn't even cover half of the first chapter in class. I estimate I'm going to need thousands of notecards by the time this is done xD.

Cut the notecards in half before you start writing on them! A 100 pack turns into a 200 pack. That's what I do. :)

Your nursing program accepts students that haven't completed A&P 1&2?
Mine only accepts once a year, the application deadline is early Jan and all pre-reqs gotta be finished with a 3.0 to even be looked at :S

Mine does too. My program starts in late August and my pre-reqs won't be completed until mid-August. (cutting it close, I know lol!) As a matter of fact, most of the schools that I researched will accept a student without having taking the pre-reqs as long as they are planning to complete them before school starts. However, maybe it's different because I am entering a second-degree ABSN program and already have a B.A., so there are already grades/GPA for the admissions committees to observe and make a decision.

Most schools allow you to apply while your prereqs are in progress with the stipulation you must complete them (and pass) before your nursing classes start. GTC is just retarded with their requirements. At the GPC program, they even have ppl taking Microbiology their first semester of the nursing program, which I thought was unheard of. All depends on the school!

I made an a last semester and am tutoring a&p this semester. I used quizlet for flashcards, I listen to them On my phone in the car. I also print them out. I take notes and class and I read the book, highlight what seems important and re-write/re-type the notes in my own words. Review notes everyday, take all practice quizzes if you have them, online. A&p is one of those classes that requires a bit of obsession. Oh I also bought dry erase markers and sheet protectors and would print off the labeling charts and use the dry erase to fill them in. Blank labeling on one side and another printed with answers on the other side. Te writing helped me remember spelling come quiz time. It's one of those classes that requires tons of exposure & repetition for me. I worked my butt off for my grade and earned every point :)

I recorded lectures and re wrote my notes several times and also went to you tube and watched all of Professor Marian Diamonds lectures,she teaches at Berkeley and I got an A in the course...

Get to know your professor(s) and take advantage of their office hours, sit in the front row, ask questions (if you don't understand, then someone else doesn't either), READ THE TEXT BOOK, ditto on watching Prof. Diamonds lectures and re-writing notes, get an anatomy coloring book, draw pictures of the anatomy that is HARD for you, learn to use acronyms (your prof. should pass some along to you). Go to all and any study sessions that your prof. is having including the ones right before the exams.

Check out a website called Simple free learning tools for students and teachers | Quizlet. It has free flashcards that other folks have created. You can enter the name of your textbook and it will pull up any flashcards created by others that you can use. It has a free app for your smartphone, so you can study anywhere. You can make your own flash cards and share them as well.

You may want to form a study group with some of your classmates, and have each person make a set of flash cards and a study guide on a different section of the material. Then you can share and learn from each other efficiently.

Put in the extra effort and do all you can to get an A. The better you do in A&P, the easier nursing school will be. If you think A&P is hard, you ain't seen nothin yet!
