other ideas (posted in other threads):

  • make your own flashcards!
  • if you are not familiar with (or have forgotten) chem, check out an into to chemistry book
  • utilize your school's study lab, or open lab times, if offered.
  • take pictures during labs!

My exam is tomorrow on Tissue, bones, and Integumentary system. I am so stressed and confused. Can't study tomorrow b4 the exam because I have lab from 8am - 11am. 12-1 is my communication class, then the exam. :o

We're taking the same test on Tuesday. I'm taking off work Monday to try to get some more microscope time in before the class, plus I have a Pharmacology exam on Monday night. Just started my Hepatitis series today, and the nurse who gave it to me said that they're probably going to ask for MMR records as well. I'm a '57 model, we didn't GET shots for those, and then she said, "Well, you'll have to get documentation that you had them." Yeah, and ol' Doc Calhoun has been dead for at least thirty years, I don't think those records exist anymore. Hmmm, I can see more vaccinations in MY future!:uhoh3:

Anyway, I'm really worried about the tissue exam. My lab partner and I stayed late last night to go over more slides - but what boggles me is that I can look at two slides representing the same tissue, and they STILL look so different. We're supposed to get lots winter weather this weekend, so you know what I'll be doing all weekend! Good luck to all taking the tissue exams this week!

I finally had my first A&P exam and I made an 88. I was a little disapointed because I had studied sooooo hard, but I know the bones, so I should make a 100 on that and that will bring the grade up to an A. Now, I will just have to keep it there.

We are working on tissues next.

Go break a leg.....hopefully not on the icey walkway to your class on Monday:chuckle You will do great and congrats on your very good first lecture test! It will only go uphill from here!

:roll I'm not worried about breaking my leg on the icey walkway, just my coccyx.

I got 102% on our second lecture exam! I was shocked he had our grades online today, we just took it this morning! I studied my butt off and it paid off! This class may be a giant stressor, but I think it is definately doable!

Good luck to all my fellow testers

LOL, breaking that coccyx would turn that uphill journey into a real challenge. :chuckle

Just finished my first AP I test, It was much harder than I thought. I have decided the words "this may be on the test" means nothing. Just study it all!

I think I got 4 wrong which would still give me an A, but I want to argue a couple questions I know about. Like if someone asked you what is dialysis for? you would say the kidney right, so isn't dialysis doing the same job as the kidney?

Oh well silly how if you study really really hard you just expect to know ALL the answers. Duoh!

I had my 2nd A&P exam on Friday. I didn't review the tissue because we ran out of time. The others in my study group had spent more time studying chpt.4, while I spent more time studying chpt. 5 and 6 because it was so confusing to me. Majority rules, so while I was helping them with chpt. 5 and 6, we ran out of time and didn't have time to go over chpt.4. UGH!!

Anyway, I thought I'd blown it because of chpt. 4 but I ended up with a 93.

Hello all I am so late joining the post I have been in A&P I for the 2nd time since January. We just recently had the first lecture test and I got a 52% there was 85 questions. The class average was a 50. As far as the lab goes I am doing really well out of a possible 100 points for the first section I got 80.5. I expect to do a lot better on the second lecture test. I wish everyone the best of luck.

If the class average was 50, there is something wrong. For my first lab quiz, (identify 25 different tissues under a microscope), the class average was 82. The instructor did say that 82 was higher than usual for a first lab test, but 50 seems outrageous. We have had a lecture quiz every week. Only 10 questions, and I usually get 9/10. Our first lecture EXAM is on Friday. I am NOT looking forward to it. Anatomy seems like a ridiculously huge amount of info, most of which we will never use again. Still, when I am making the big bucks as an RN, I will know that I earned every cent of it !!

Our class average for the first lecture exam was 64 and the lab test was about the same avg. Our second lecture exam had a class avg. of 74. We don't quizzes nor can we make extra credits.

No its wasn't the lab average it was the lecture average, I believe that our lab class is doing pretty well. The 50 average was on the first lecture test and the professor said that the first lecture test is always really low.
