Hi I have been accepted into FIU in the summer; my major is pre-nursing. I am a freshman and I want to know what are some of the basic classes i should take? Eventually my goal is to become a nure anesthetist so any tips on how I can most suscessfully accomplish this or any advice would be helpful.
Thank you :)

You need to look at your schools req but basic classes req are:
Anatomy
Physiology
Microbiology
General chem ( req or pre req to micro)
General bio
Algebra or stats or both
Intro to psych or developmental psych or both
A humanities class ( gen ed)
English
....maybe even a CNA cert
As I said this are the basics.
You would have to look at your school or other ones nearby to see exactly what they need. And go from there
Good luck

Congratulations! I just got accepted into a nursing program which begins in the fall, and I can tell you that all the classes you will go through now will definitely be worth it in the long run. First, I will start out by telling you the required courses for my nursing program, and then I will go over the basic courses you need to take. At my school, you have to have: Biology 111, Biology 112, Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, Microbiology, Chemistry 111, Chemistry 112, Chemistry 113 Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, College Algebra, English 111, English 113, Introduction to Sociology, and one humanities elective (like art, history, music, dance, etc). For any nursing program, you are definitely going to need both Anatomy and Physiology one and two, Microbiology, all the Chemistry classes, Intro to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, a math, at least one humanities elective, and some English courses. To look competitive when it comes time to apply for nursing school, you probably need to take the following classes: Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, English (probably four, but at least two), Chemistry (I would take an introduction to chemistry and then one more advanced chemistry), Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Math (I would take one basic math class, and then statistics), Introduction to Sociology, and two humanities (I would take a history, and then a music, dance, or art class). You want to make sure that you check with your university and see what the prerequisites for the nursing program are as they differ from school to school. When you find out what your school's specific requirements are, you can tailor each semester around the prerequisites you know you have to have.

Here is the list for the core curriculum for your school. You also need to take:
NUR 3119 Professional Nursing Concepts & Issues
COM 3461 Interracial/Intercultural Communication
Here is a list of nursing specific pre-reqs (some of which you can probably take to satisfy the core curriculum requirements.)
Get used to doing your own research (as you're going to need the skill to get through college).. It took me five minutes to find this information on the school's website. Most importantly- never take the internet (even the schools website) as gospel. Meeting with a nursing adviser before enrolling in ANY classes at this point is essential..
Good luck!
