Pre- NCLEX Anxiety

hello all,

i am in my 1st semester on an accelerated bsn program. my nursing program revolves around the nclex. i understand they want us to pass the test, but sometimes i feel like they are going to kill me in the process.:crying2: going from standardized tests in pre-requisits to the complexity of the nclex is a difficulty transition. my university did not introduce the nclex question style, it was simply thrown @ us. i am starting to get somewhat used to the style of questioning, but i am very affraid because we are required to take our patho & pharm exams nclex style. in the computer lab, timed, with no back tracking. on top of that for each subject we are taking we must complete 100 nclex qbank questions b4 we can pass the class. i am sure this will all be benificial in the end, but i am having difficulty adapting to this style. every time i take a test it gets more & more complex.

my question is to those that passed/ failed the nclex, did your college/ university practice this examination style? if so do you think this helped u pass the test? how can i adapt to this style of questioning?

Nope sorry. We had NXLEX type questions but they were scantron tests. They were timed though. Good luck.

oguesswhat, thanx for the reply. We r allowed to do our fundamentals & assessments on scantron, but patho & pharm r a whole different ball game. Did u alrready take the NCLEX? If so did the NCLEX scantron style of questions in school help?

We always had NCLEX style questions, including the SATA (ugh!), but never on the computer. They were always scantron and timed, although obviously we could go back and change answers. I kind of wish we had done them the way you're explaining because I would be much more comfortable about taking the NCLEX.

I'm the kind of person who likes to write all over the test, put huge lines through answers I know are wrong, etc. For computer tests I cover up the choices with my fingers if i decide they aren't correct. If you work the same way that might help you a bit.

No not yet. I am scheduled on the 6th of July so hopefully I will find out they helped tremendously! Ha
