Personally if you make your own they are more likely to stick.

Davis makes them. ISBN 0803611552.

I bought them but we're required to write up our own on the ones we have to give. Although I agree with the theory if you write it you will retain it better but if you're anything like me after writing up over 100+ cards....they stop sticking....

I bought mine at the school bookstore but you can buy them at any bookstore or online

I found some fairly good ones here:

http://md-do.org/Files/phrmcrds/

It doesn't have everything... but it does offer a good template for making your own. Additionally, it's unindexed... so you'll have to sort through it a bit...

Good luck!

edit:

They're microsoft word documents.. I think you can print them up, cut them with your scissors, and paste them on a 3x5... Pretty well-done... and nice and neat.

Anyone have any ideas on where to find some examples or templates for drug cards? I'm just a little nervous making my first ones.

I just recently bought per-made drug cards. I also come form the theory that if you write it you will remember it. But when you are staying up all night trying to get ready for your patient care the next morning it is awfully nice to have the med cards! it has sved me hours of time working on my own hand made med cards. :roll :nurse:

I bought the Mosby ones at barnes and nobles

We use "Nurse's Med Deck" 9th edition. It looks like a big recipe box filled with big cards that contain the following information:

Drug name, classification

Indications

Action

Pharmacokinetics

Contraindications

Adverse reactions/side effects

Interactions

Route and dosage info

Nursing implications (what to assess for)

Nursing diagnoses

Implementation

patient/family teaching

Evaluation

You can find it at bookstores or http://www.drugguide.com

Good luck,

Adri

I like the Mosby ones the best. They contain the same information that the others have and also a CD (which is printable) :roll

I also got the mosby's cards. They seem to be working ok so far. I do tend to add a few things to them but very little.:nurse:
