I'm not sure this is in the right area, wasn't quite sure where it fit! I'm sorry! I have a pharm test for my L&D position. I'm not terribly worried, just curious as HR didn't really have an answer. I have the study guide for the test, but was wondering if anyone has taken a test prior to employment. Is it NCLEX style or just a plain old normal test? I like to know the style of the test before taking it so I know how to prepare mentally. Thank you!

Itsnowornever-
I had to take a pharm test before I was hired at my current job at the ER, all it was was a 25 question pencil and paper test of super easy med calc questions! If its anything like the one I had to take you should be fine! :)
Best of luck!

I took one about two weeks into orientation, 30 questions, pencil paper and calc. very basic, just like in school,
Dr orders 100 mg of BLAH BLAH, comes in a tablet of 50 mg, what do you give? Two tablets. etc and some conversion stuff, and some where med so and so is what? a cardiac, and antianxiety or what? plus like you they gave me a study guide :)
I took it last week! It was easy! I wish school tests were like that! LOL! Thanks gals!

did you have to just do calc questions or did they ask your specific medications and what they are for?
Specific meds- ranged anywhere from cardiac to L&D and calculations. It really wasn't bad. Similar to the first pharm test in a pharm class. Quite simple.
