Been seeing all these threads on CCs near me, but none for the one I'm hoping to get into, any of you out there?

Hi! I go to Prairie State but got accepted into another nursing program so I will not be attending Prairie's program. But I do have many good friends that will get into the program, so if you have any questions let me know and I will ask them.

I am in my first year at PSC. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
What's it like? I take the HESI tomorrow and am curious to get a firsthand account of the program. I'm currently going for Fall 11 and have applied here and to another school, so I'm trying to figure out which would be a better fit, should I be accepted to both.

I am applying into psc for this fall's nursing program!! Just took the hesi a couple of weeks ago and passed receiving an additional 10 bonus points. Did you take the hesi yet? What is your overall points total?

I am graduating on sat. Passed my exit hesi and last final. The program is challenging we started out with 95 and I think 38-40 original people made it. If I can give some advice:
I would say first and foremost your fellow classmates are not competition they will be the people that help you get through it. Get a group of people to share the work load and share notes and whatever else you may have. They will become family honestly and truly some of the closest people in your life.
Get the Saunders nclex review book and use it as a resource.
Never give up and take one day at a time. Make school your first priority it will have to be.
Nursing school is not like other classes you have taken get the " I to get an A" mentality out of your head. I am not implying to not strive to get good grades but if you have to have an "A" and freak if you don't get one you will have a hard time. The grading scale is different anything under an 80% is failing because if you weren't an A/B student you would not be there.
First year will start out easier and then get progressively more difficult as they weed people out. The 102 final is "crazy" make sure you have a cushion. Second year the attitude of the program is different you will have more emotional support but the content is more challenging. You will also have 3 hr of lecture twice a week then lab and then 12 hours of clinical which will 2 6 hour days or one 12 hour day (which sounds scary but are great).
Don't be scared you can do it. I said yesterday that the nursing program brought me back to my faith you and God will be on speed dial. The prairie state nursing program is very well respected because it is so challenging and they turn out good nurses. I think we had a 99% exit hesi pass rate which we took the day after our final.
Want any info send me a message.

I pretty much work a 9-5 Monday-Friday, I'm guessing (if i'm accepted, that I wont be able to continue working this job?)
Also, I have no idea how the schedule is broken up, would you be able to tell me how your week was set up?
Thank you!
