UNC-CH MSN 2018 Cycle

Nursing Students Post Graduate

To my knowledge, there is no thread yet for all of us UNC MSN 2018 matriculation hopefuls! I am currently finalizing my application for the RN-MSN program, specifically FNP. That personal statement was a monster to write, but I think I'm finally happy with it.

I know I'm super early to be applying, but there's got to be other people out there who are like me and super eager to get their apps in. How is it going for all you peeps?!

That's good to know GoodyThree. I called and they couldn't tell me that info :/ said to cal back Monday. I will keep that glimmer of hope alive, you never know! Let me know if you find out!

I'm glad you guys received some (sort of) answers today! I know this means the wait continues, but it's a start. I'm still in the dark over here, the mail came today but no letter. I'm hoping tomorrow will be the day. GoodyThree, thanks for managing to squeeze out that info from them, they tend to remain tight-lipped about that sort of information.

Just out of curiosity... can you all tell me more about yourself? I have 15 years experience, made a 3.5 for my RN -> BSN courses, a 3.0 for my ADN after some admittedly crappy grades when I was younger, volunteered internationally, certified CRNI, a member of a professional organization... just curious what other's backgrounds are and who they are admitting! :D

Did you receive your letter? Hoping you received good news. :-)

My experience sounds similar to yours though I currently volunteer locally. I also don't belong to a professional nursing organization. I think I might rectify that soon. ;-)

Sorry y'all I received my letter late yesterday right before I went in to work at 7p. I'm on the waitlist as well, so it's us three waiting again.

Well I think we all deserve a congrats for making it this far! It sounds like some that didn't make the wait list got into some pretty darn good schools! Here's to hoping people decide to go elsewhere so we get our spots :D

I know! I was thinking the same thing. Tee hee.

Good job to everyone who got waitlisted! Hope for the best!

Thanks, and good luck to you in VA. :-)

Has anyone gotten any more information on the wait list? Has it really only been a week? :D :D :D

Hi! I was following at this group for a friend of mine who applied to the UNC Chapel Hill RN to MSN program, FNP track for this coming fall 2018. He was accepted in mid April. Well, the reason I am posting here is because I wanted to let you all know that I totally understand your anxiety and stress during this process. I was in your position last year. I applied to UNC Chapel Hill, RN to MSN program, FNP track for Fall 2017. I can now say that I am a proud Tarheel since I got accepted last year and started in Fall 2017. I just finished my first year in the program. I just wanted to give you all a little hope. I was waitlisted in May 4th, 2017 and it was until June 27th, 2017 when I finally got out of the waitlist and was offered admission in the program. I had acceptance letters from Simmons and Chamberlain which I applied after I was placed in the waitlist at UNC just because I wanted to have a plan "B", but UNC Chapel Hill was my first choice all along. So, don't loose your hope. Being in the waitlist still put you in the run for admission. Anything can happen and anything is possible! Good luck to you all!
