Most MSN programs are now online. I am at Duke and my cohort is from all over. We meet once a semester for an intensive conference type classroom experience. They help with practicum placement. that seems to be the biggest problem in MSN programs nowadays

Aspen University has one of the most affordable and convenient online RN-BSN programs available. You can study at your own pace and courses start every 2 weeks so you don't have to wait for a semester to start.

I was graduated from the Aspen University RN to MSN program. It was affordable, flexible and had CCNE accreditation. Most importantly, I am a wiser nurse for having taken the Aspen journey. I would highly recommend it.

I did mine through . Very affordable, with a flat fee structure as opposed to charging by credit hours. It is competency based and self paced. They are fully accredited. Got my BSN and MSN. I recommend them highly but only if you are able to deal with having to structure your own study time. There are no due dates, no bulletin boards and no group projects.

Mary Jean brings up a good point. Each school's program is very different.

At Aspen, there are no quizzes, no statistics courses, and no "hard" science courses. A bulk of the work is written in the form of discussion posts and a Capstone project. It's liberal-arts based, and it serves nurses who thrive in a more open and creative environment.
