Post DNP nurse practitioner certificate

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hello,

I am one month away from graduating with my DNP. My masters program is a MSN, but did not offer a nurse practitioner program. So I do not have my NP, but I have taken the core courses Patho, Pharm, Physical Assessment in my DNP program. Does anyone know of an online program that offers the clinical hours only for my nurse practitioner certificate to sit for the boards? After talking to counselors this is about the only thing left I need, each program is a little different so they might want me to take a class here and there. But just wondering if anyone has come across something like this.

Thanks much.

What specialty of nurse practitioner would you like to pursue? And which counselors did you talk to? You have a completed the three Ps but you still are missing the rest of the courses needed to become a nurse practitioner. It isn't just clinical hours you need the didactic courses that go with those for example if you want to be a family nurse practitioner you need the adult health course is the women's health pediatrics the geriatrics courses not just the clinical hours. And then let's talk about prescriptive how are you going to get that? What kind of DNP did you get? You will need to contact a school that does offer a nurse practitioner program in the specialty you choose and let them evaluate your transcripts.

Just wondering what post DNP, NP certificate program you decided on? I have a DNP and would like to know the options for NP. Most NP certificate programs still require 30-40 credits. Thanks in advance!
