Is anyone else anxiously waiting to hear from UIC about the GEP program? It would be nice to know the other members who are biting their nails over the anticipation of receiving that letter!

Congrats to both of you! Acute care is such a great specialty. Good luck in the first 15 months and beyond!

i think they said they had 600 some-odd applicants this year for the program and about 45 spots. a friend of mine who applied there previously was told that a large percentage of these applicants wish to pursue midwifery...making that specialty quite competitive.
they did mention in the info session that a 500 on each section of the gre is encouraged.
hope this helps!
Does anyone know if it is possible to defer admission into the program a year?

Hi w8ing
Congratulations! I also applied to UIC and was accepted into the ACNP program..and yes, you can defer admission for a year.
I remember mvanz9999 from the interview and I'm glad he got in, too. Once again, congratualtions to everyone who got in and good luck!
illinipeds, hang on in there...there's hope yet.
Apparently I have given away too much information about myself.
LOL!
