Nursing Students Post Graduate

I'm considering applying for the ACNP post-masters certificate program that is online and was wondering if anybody can give me some insight into the educators there, what the courses are like, your satisfaction with your program... that sort of thing.

Anybody's comments are appreciated. Even if you're not in the ACNP track. I'm hoping to learn what people think of the school on the whole. I wish I'd known more about my current instructors before applying to school... it's not always the best experience and I'm eagerly awaiting graduation.

Thanks!

I have been watching this thread for the past couple of weeks since I am scheduled to begin the ACNP/NE online program at SLU later this month. Although I don't have any information to share with you regarding the school or more specifically the faculty, I would be happy to do so after I get started if time is not a factor in your decision regarding attendance.

I know a couple of people who are doing the online ACNP at SLU. They seem to be satisfied with the program so far, though we haven't had any in-depth discussions about it. I myself am a fairly new student to SLU (PhD) and am very pleased with the university in general. Faculty and staff that I have come into contact with have been nothing but helpful and friendly and really on the ball. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm set to graduate from my FNP program 12/08 and will probably wait until passing the boards before applying to their post-master's program. It'll be at least a year before applying. I'd also be interested in hearing how your courses progress, so if you don't mind me pm'ing you every now and again I will certainly want to hear of your satisfaction over time.

How's their online tuition? One thing I really like about Indiana State University is paying in-state tuition. Helps me avoid taking out anymore student loans.

Good to hear! While I'm overall pleased with my FNP program, there have been a couple of mis-communications via email that make me wish I'd know ahead of time how unpleasant some of the instructors can be. These were probably isolated events, and I'm very much ok with the end results, but I'm really looking forward to graduating and moving on.

Best of luck to you in your PhD program!
