Is the background shading of each post r/t the community standing?

I don't mind that one way or the other, but it would be very excellent if there were still a way to have a specific background color for subsequent comments from the thread's original poster (OP) - wasn't that a feature on the old site? All posts (in a thread) from that thread's OP were blue?

Not a deal-breaker but it was something that was quite a helpful convenience when reading a conversation.

Thanks!

OP/other posts the most logical system of shading, IMHO.  Frankly shading based on VIPs/community standing/etc. is rather insulting.  I don't need to be told which posts best contribute to the conversation, I am capable of reading.

No, background shading has nothing to do with Community standing.

In the past, members could recognize the OP's subsequent posts because their reply would be in a faded blue background.

That is a good suggestion, JKL33, and I will forward this to @Joe V

Thank you! 🙂

Yes, that was a great convenience, especially 8 pages in when two or more posters are arguing with one another.

That would be nice if the posts by the OP were shaded different again. Some of the threads go on for a LONG time and I find myself forgetting who exactly started the conversation partway through.

We haven't forgotten about this request. Give us a little time to knock out some other things. ;)

The color for the subsequent replies by the OP in a thread has been resolved.
