Positive alcohol screening

Published

I am still waiting to find out what is going to happen with my case. Just a reminder to everyone. I was on a 3 year monitoring agreement for for past DUI in 1997 and I admitted to using drugs back in 2005. All these things too place prior to ever even considering going to nursing school. Long story short I for my act together and live a healthy sober life. My 3 years would have been up in September and I ended up drinking one night and tested positive for etg. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect???

Specializes in critical care, ER,ICU, CVSURG, CCU.

Extension of monitoring program.

That's what I'm hoping for! I fear I may not get back my license but that seems so excessive. Stressful!!!!!!

Likely have to start over. Dang. You were so close.

I think they call you employer and let them know about the positive test. Maybe best to tell your employer before they get the call.

If in Texas ,They will do one of two things if this is the only problem you've had make you do relapse prevention which will be another but shorter Outpt. Treatment and extend your time or if they closed you TPAPN case and sent it to the BON then likely you will get a board order asking you what happen be brief don't over share and they will order that you restart your whole thing over completed with eval. Treatment and 3 year agreement and it will be forever on your record . Unfortunately I speak from experience but I did finally complete.

Thank you for the feedback
