PNP acute care exam-passed!

Published

Yay! I took my acute care pediatric nurse practitioner exam last week and passed it! I have never been so nervous about an exam in my life. NCLEX and the CCRN were a piece of cake compared to this. Whew.

I saw a recent thread asking about how to study. Yes, it was tough to know how to prepare since there is a dearth of acute care PNP materials. Honestly, I wasted way too much time with primary care PNP books. The test was very focused on acute care with very little primary care. I had a few materials from courses that friends took from HLA years ago. I did pay for the PNCB practice test and felt like that was worth the money. Though it did shake my confidence since that was VERY hard. Many PNP friends recommended using the Harriet Lane to study, and I did think that was helpful. GL!

Unfortunately there aren't. Have you met with any of your instructors? Mine have really helped me evaluate what i'm missing. I found that what my problem has been is that i'm Choosing a right answer just not the most right. When you are studying think of questions you saw or what you think thy might ask you about that subject. Also remember when studying to ask yourself what is the first or most important thing that you can do for that patient.

Hi,

Congratulations on passing your boards! I just have a few quick questions if you wouldn't mind answering them. I was just wondering if you used the 2017 Napnap book to study for your boards? I am currently in the process of studying for mine but unfortunately was unable to find the 2017 review book and was only able to get the 2015 book. I have also been using the ac-pnp site as well to do questions from. I was wondering if you did the review course portion of this site as well or if you just used the question portion? Thank you so much!

I’m not sure if anyone is still using this thread but I thought I would try. I am taking the acute care pediatric nurse practitioner exam in September and I am looking for any resources to study.. I have about 10 weeks to study and would like to know of any resources that anyone might know that would be helpful . I had heard of the pnp-ac.com site but it no longer exists .. so any information would be helpful ! Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this thread is still being used. Signed up to take my exam in a little over a month. Any study tips, resources that were useful? I saw that a lot of people referenced the melnic site but those resources don't seem to exist anymore.
