Obviously beside education background (nurses trained under nursing model and social workers under the social work model) and the fact that pmhnp's can prescribe, what else is the difference between a psych aprn and a clinical social worker?

They both seem.like they can do similar duties?

PMHNPs largely do med management and have minimal training in psychotherapy. Psychiatric social workers have much more training in psychotherapy, since that's the focus of their practice. Also, when you refer to nurses being trained under the nursing model and social workers being trained under the social work model, that's a huge difference right there. Although there is some overlap in the tasks, the overall practices and philosophies are v. different.
