PMHNP preceptor backed out last minute

I was suppose to start clinicals this week with a local psych hospital. I was accepted for this site in the beginning of July. This doctor was included on all email correspondence. When I spoke with the site coordinator in July, she stated I need to get all my onboarding paperwork and attend hospital orientation, once I was at orientation I would speak with the doctor and go over my schedule. The doctor who was suppose to precept me, stated today (once I was finally provided his phone number to call him) that he could not.  Not because of me but because of other commitments he made. I contacted the sites coordinator who stated she was trying to place me with another provider and was waiting to hear back. I asked if I should go to orientation tomorrow and she said yes come because we are trying to place you. I spoke with my schools coordinator who said she was going to reach out to the site coordinator, see if I am reassigned and go from there. I’ve been giving no definitive by the site that I will be able to go with another provider as of the end of the day today, and they are still working on if they are able to accommodate. I am waiting to hear back from my school coordinator as well.

I am literally beside myself. I’ve taken off days of work to attend the site orientation, I’ve already completed two days. We have had correspondence since July and I have my acceptance letter from this site. If I lose this site and have to find another (which who knows if and when that would happen) has the potential to push back all my schooling. Im having a ton of emotions from feeling angry, sad and just ready to give up.

Has this ever happened to any one before? Any advice, guidance or maybe even know a PMHNP on the Philadelphia area willing to take a student on last minute? TIA
