Please read, I need advice

Hello all,

I am an RN since last July and I earned my BSN last month. I worked about 8 months part time as a home care nurse while I was going to school for my BSN. I am moved to Missouri in a small town and looking for jobs like crazy. I am even applying to places 1hr, 1.5 hrs away since there is not many options where I live and no luck so far. Anyway, I has an interview with a local hospital about 10 days ago. The HR person only asked me a couple questions then she gave me a unit tour. She was so positive and she introduced me to staff. At the end, she told me that she will call me in a week. It was a really positive experience, least that's what I thought. I didn't receive any calls yet, I left 2 messages and still no calls. What should I do next?

I don't have any medical experience other than part time home care. Even though I have a Baccalaureate degree, not having enough experience makes it impossible to find a job in this small community.

Thanks.

I would give it a week & send a post-interview thank you note in the mean time (if you haven't sent one already). Just as nurses are understaffed and slammed in many places, the same can apply to HR. So even though they said they would call you in a week, it's not uncommon for it to take 2-3 weeks for them to get back to you. Keep your chin up & best of luck!

What the above poster said and keep applying everywhere.

Keep searching. No matter how good the interview went or whatever the NM said to you: you do not have the job until you get an official job offer from HR.

Never stop the job hunt until that offer comes in.

Best of luck!
