Hey guys!
I'm looking to go back to school next year, and I'm interested in working for an organization that has an amazing tuition reimbursement package. I currently work for a hospital and the tuition reimbursement is AWFUL ($4k per calendar year). Ideally, I would love to move back to the East Coast but I'm pretty much "open" to trying out a facility if the opportunity is ripe.
I would be extremely grateful if you guys would post the facility, location, and amount given per year as tuition reimbursement. We also might help many others who want the same info in the process. I'll start:
Facility: Penn State Hershey Medical Center
Location: Hershey, PA
Tuition Reimbursement: Full-time nurses qualify for up to $5,250 reimbursement in a calendar year, and part-time employees qualify for up to $1,500 (any facility other than Penn State). Educational Privileges allow all full-time PSHMC employees to attend any Penn State campus and receive a 75% tuition discount
Facility: Medstar Georgetown University Hospital
Location: Washington, DC
Tuition Reimbursement: To be used at any institution of higher learning by those who do not wish to use the Georgetown Excellence in Nursing Science and Practice Scholarship. Receive $6000 for full-time RNs and $3000 for part-time
Anyone work for Medstar Georgetown? What is the Georgetown Excellence in Nursing Science and Practice Scholarship? Do Medstar Georgetown nurses enjoy a discount at Georgetown to pursue an advanced nursing degree?
I have a friend who works at Westchester Medical Center, will be posting that info soon. I'm also Looking forward to hearing from NJ/NY/PA nurses . Everyone else is also welcomed.

Facility: Chrisitiana Health System in DE
Tuition Reimbursement: Prepaid for approved colleges such Wilmington university, immaculata, university of Delaware etc. However, $5000 will be given to full time employees that wants to attend schools that are not prepaid. There is also a 2 year work commitment post graduation.
They really value education, all they want is the 2 year work commitment post graduation for each degree you receive.

When do you become eligible for tuition reimbursement? 6 months or after a year of working?
Facility: Westchester Medical Center
Location: Valhalla, NY
Tuition Reimbursement: All employees employed for at least 6 months shall be eligible for tuition reimbursement at an amount of $3,500 or 15 credits per academic year whichever is greater.
3 months after which is not that bad.

I have worked at a few hospitals that offer tuition reimbursement but they generally only approve you if you're pursuing your BSN...so make sure you ask that at interviews... Those of us pursuing MSN degrees have to go it alone. Thanks, Magnet.
