After an abdominal resection for colon cancer, the client returns to her room with a Jackson-Pratt drain in place.The client's spouse asks the nurse what the purpose of the drain is Which of the following is the nurse's best response?
A.To irrigate the incision with a saline solution.
B To prevent bacterial infection of the incision
C.To Measure the amount of fluid lost after surgery
D.To prevent accumulation of drainage in the word..
To anyone this would be kind to help.I'm having a bit of problem..

RN_TOBE, In the last option, is it word or wound? for me that supposed to be the answer but the last word "word" makes that option wrong unless that is a typographical error, because "Jackson-Pratt drain are used to drain fluid from the wound to prevent the fluid from acumulating in wound and aid wound the to heal fast. check it out in the book.
