Help. Please. I'm so desperate and depressed. I am so confused that I'm feeling sick. Why can't I figure this out???? I live in Washington State. I want to register for NCLEX. I can't figure out what to do!!! I know I must register with Parsons with a $200 fee. I also know I need to fill out an application for an RN license. I can't find the application paper on the DOH website. I also don't know I can't test until there is an release of an Authorization to test (ATT). I have no idea how to get that. I also don't know if my transcripts have been sent. I graduated in March 2019. I am so depressed, because I am so lost. If I sign up to parson's and pay $200, then what. How do I submit the paperwork to Washington State if I can't find it? When and where do I submit my finger prints? Where do I submit my background test? AM I TOO LATE. How and where do I send my transcripts? Anyone! I'm honestly begging. I don't know where to start. I am really this dumb, this is not a joke. PLEASE HELP.

Do not sign up to Pearsonvue and pay until you have received the OK to sit NCLEX.

start here https://www.doh.wa.gov/LicensesPermitsandCertificates/NursingCommission/NurseLicensing/RegisteredNurse

once you have submitted application and other paperwork and the BON gives the go ahead then register with Pearsonvue and they will send you your ATT once they receive OK from BON

Thank you for helping. Do you mean application for the license? and the background check and fingerprints. Are my transcripts sent? When will I know to sign up for parsons? Will I get an email?

The way I did it was as soon as I graduated, I applied online for license and went to get my fingerprints electronically scanned, created an account with Pearson Vue, once the school got everyones' paperwork done they sent it to the BON. Once my packet was complete with the BON they emailed me my ATT. I went on my Pearson Vue account and scheduled my test.

You graduated a year ago. Your school should have already sent all of their documents (transcript, verification of graduation, etc) on you.

Be careful with such a blanket statement please... when I graduated we had to request an official copy of our transcripts to be sent to the BON via the registrar's office (and pay the fee.)  It was not an automatic process from the school  upon completion.

And I can't address the process for Washington State specifically, but most of the BON websites that I've seen will have some sort of an electronic checklist for applicants informing of what documents are outstanding and which have been received.. I would advise looking on the application website or contact the BON directly to very receipt of transcript.

Best of luck.

In Florida, you have to register yourself on the FBON website, pay a fee, have your fingerprints taken, apply to Pearson Vue, pay a fee and wait for the ATT. All of this comes after your school submits your transcript to the board.

If you get truly lost again, couldn't you just contact the school you graduated from and ask if they have a sheet or document which lists the steps for you?  This way you can make sure they did send everything and you're ready to go.  Email?  Phone Call?

I would think they would have gone over this in a class or at least have a list of what you need to do to get eventually licensed.

And it is true, in some cases you must request the transcript from your school to be sent and pay for it to be sent to the BON.  Perhaps, this is where the hang-up is?  This is why it may not hurt to check w/ your school

No we were sent a paper explaining it. I looked it over but am still confused. I know I need to register with the BON. I just don't know how or where to fill out the information.

Could you speak to the DON at the school you attended?
