Planning to work in Australia. Need Enlightenment.

Published

Hi everyone! I am a registered nurse and currently residing in the Phillipines. I passed my Local Board exam dec. 2007, and unfortunately because of the massive production of nurses and the stiff competition here, I am still jobless but taking chances.

I am in need of clarification and helpful guidance on how to pursue Australia. I have an Aunt who's willing to sponsor me... but I must admit, i have no clear overview on how to get there. Ive heard about bridging programs, pre-assesment stuffs from BONs , etc... but still i end up confused.

anyway, here are my concerns. I would really appreciate it if you could help.:)

*Can you please enlighten me on what to do first and the steps that I would need to follow. what needs to be done before I can do the assessment thing from my choice of BON? should i scout a Uni for the bridging course first befor I apply to th BON?

* I have only one year volunteer experience in the Phil , in other words- no employment exp., will that be enough for them to allow me to take the bridging course? and what is a bridging program like?:redbeathe

* I am aware that student visa will be used, but how long should I wait to convert it to a working one? after Im registered perhaps? and if I will reach AUS, when will I be eligible to work?

WOW I still have lots of queries, and I am really overwhelmed with these thoughts. cant get any more anxious. :crying2:

Please do help. Thanks in advance.:)
