At best, hospitals have four walls and a roof and I seriously doubt that contained within these four walls is a Nurse's Break Room as described here. That would be heaven. But, who would be taking care of the patients? Maybe that's why we will never see anything like this. Come on, dream a little dream with me and tell me what you envision as the perfect Break Room. Aug 5, 2015 Slurpee machine (that has scheduled maintenance), big tv, huge refrigerator (that has scheduled cleaning), keurig machine with large variety of non-flavored pods, 2 microwaves, comfortable chairs, masseuse, therapy dog. Our break room actually has some of the above.

Aug 5, 2015 My hospital actually placed a serenity room somewhere on the 3rd floor. I'm on the ground floor in the ER. you have to get a key from your director. I rarely get a lunch much less time for a quiet moment in this mythical room. I think it is more like Narnia.

Maybe even a futon for those days when you are just to tired to drive home safely or in case of a weather emergency when you have to stay for a double shift (or more).

I think it is more like Narnia. And I imagine that it'd take about an hour and a half to track down the person who has authorization to give you the pass key.....for your 15 minute break. If you had one, that is Then, too, let's not forget the form that would be required to be submitted and approved prior to the release of said Mythical Magical Narnia Breakroom Key: an explanation as to what the room will be used for, the specific date and time it is requested to be used (not to be varied by even ten minutes, or the authorization becomes null and void). The form should be signed by the charge nurse, Nurse manager, unit director and then submitted to the facility director for approval. The approval process should take about 2-3 weeks for processing....and you will likely be granted your request about a day after the date you had on the form. IOW....null and void. But enjoy that room!
