im a junior in college recieving my BS in psych and then going through an accelerated BSN program. I am very interested in working in the NICU, but i would also like to know a little bit more about the PICU. What ages are in this setting? whats the daily routine like? any info would be great... im trying to get my life back on track n really figure out what im gonna do.

PICU can have patients from shortly after birth, until mid 20s. If the infant has open heart surgery, they will routinely go to the PICU after the surgery. If the patient has been followed for years for a childhood problem, then they will usually stick with the same doctors, and you can watch them grow up, such as patients with cancer, or cystic fibrosis, etc.
Daily routine is just like in any other ICU.
