Well, I am a nursing student, and I am having my duties in different hospitals like all the other nursing students. I am having my duty in Philippine Children's Medical Center and i am excited because this is the first time that I will be assigned in a hospital in Manila (I am from Bulacan). Uhm, may I ask if anyone there who could give some advise what should I prepare??? :idea:Also, I would like to rent a boarding house, does anybody here knows one?:uhoh3: Please help me! Thank you!!!! All the best!

hi!

are you talking about Fe del Mundo Medical Center? Well you can bring such basics like stet, bp ap and thermometer. Others: cotton balls, alcohol, gauze, betadine, bandage scissors, clean gloves and sterile gloves just to be sure. Anyways, you can buy at mercury drug near at the hospital.

I'm not sure though for the dormitories. Try to search the net. I believe there's one in along quezon ave. just near banawe street and E. rodriguez ave (that is iif were talking here Fe del Mundo)

Hope this helps!

PCMC is different to Fe del mundo and to national children medical center/hospital... PCMC is located in q.ave corner agham road, near lund center of the philippines, while fe delmundo hospital former national children hospital located in banawe, near E.rodriguez and national children is located in E.rodriguez near trinity university...

i think there is no dormitory near pCMC,aside from lung center dormitory but a room for rent, maybe u can find...

you will need the regular things that a nurse must have, its SOP.

and as i notice in PCMC,the student nurse i saw their is assigned in public ward only,,in pay ward there's no student nurses.

Gudluck

I had my duty at PCMC years ago, you can bring the usual nurse stuff, BP, stet, thermometer, small notebook etc. I pity those sick children. I can never forget my patient there who had a leukemia. I wonder where's he now. Hope he survived. I can't stand the sight of pitiful bedridden children.

Hi! I also had a duty on PCMC last year, and we rented a boarding house just in front of it! Very convenient! You may want to contact me at ********* if you are interested. I can guide you to that place. All those who would like to inquire, please feel free to contact me. Mama Letty, the owner, is actually looking for boarders... Thanks!

you can also consider rooms for rent along or near ABS-CBN

I asked the Director's Office (the department which is accepting applicants) in Philippine Children's Medical Center in Quezon Avenue corner Agham Road last December 2008 if when they will be open for staff nurse applicants. They said the hospital will be open for applications in April 2008. I just want to have a confirmation if this is true. Who among you also inquired in PCMC? Thanks in advance to those who will reply. :p

Hi there! just new here! maybe you mean april 2009. I called them last april 2009, and then i was told that the screening for staff nurse applicant is on-going. So i went there and passed my documents. But then they told me that it is just for manpower pooling only. I was even told that i will have to wait not only for weeks, but months since they have lots of application in their office. Hope this helps you.

are they still open for hiring?
