Hello all!
I recently got a job as a CVS Pharmacy Technician (with the program/training being free of course) and was wondering about a couple of things. If I do the training and finish to test, will I become certified? Or should I do a Pharmacy Technician program at my Community College for which they're offering just to back up my information? I only want to attain a certificate in this, because I realize it's within a health care setting and it would look great within my resume of experiences. I'll be doing my Nursing Pre-Req's as well since some of the classes tie in with one another. I just want to attain a certificate in Pharmacy Technician for the mean time while I'm still in school-- I would like to think it's something to fall back on before I go into Nursing School. What are some feedbacks from all of you? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! :)

I would definitely ask your employer about that. I'm guessing they won't provide or pay for certification if your state doesn't require it.

If you've got a job that will pay, or at least offer, the training then I would stay stick with it! It'll be great to keep while you are taking your pre-reqs and great on an application, too. If you didn't already have the job offer, I would recommend going through your community college to be a certified nursing assistant instead.
Congrats! And good luck!
