I'm a student at St. Louis Community College and about to start the nursing program, hopefully. I noticed that there is no pharmacology class listed as a requirement. I looked at the descriptions for the nursing classing, thinking it was incorporated into one of those, but no luck finding that. I thought that was a class all nursing students took, but is that not true?

Hey! I'm actually on the waiting list at Meramec! Which campus are you at?
Hi! I'm going to do the program at FP, though I've taken chemistry at Meramec and a couple of other prereqs through FV.
I've taken a majority of my classes between FP and Meramec. How long where you on the list for FP?
I'm actually going to go put my name on the list after they post final grades. I was going to put my name on the list this past summer, but with the changes, I had to wait. The good news is that when I start, I'll have all of the other classes out of the way. I hope that the changes they made will make the list go faster. When will you start?
I know, I could've put my name on the list in August after I finished Biology but they changed the pre-req's right at that time so I had to retake my Math COMPASS and score high enough to test into College Algebra and bypass Inter. Algebra. Thanks to many hours on Khan Academy I did and was able to put my name on the list at Meramec in September I think it was. I was #289 after Fall 2013. I should get another update after Spring starts with my new number. I also applied to another ADN a little closer to me down South but it's point system and I won't find out until mid-April. Have you taken A&P yet? If you have who did you take it with? I have that and Human Growth next semester.
I'm finishing up A&P right now and will take A&P 2 in the spring. I don't think we can say names on here, but her last name starts with an A and is at FP, and I liked her. I have to take A&P 2 with someone else because they didn't have many choices.
I had already taken the dosage calculation test and finished biology and chemistry, but I waited to put my name on the list because my kids were out of school and I thought I'd just wait until they went back--big mistake. I easily could have gotten my name on the list right after the dosage test. I also noticed that we no longer need sociology, which I took online last spring, and I also think they took out the requirement for the second English class, which I took in the summer. Oh, well.
I know who you're talking about, I couldn't take her bc I work full time during the day so I have to take night classes. I took Sociology too, but haven't taken Comp 2 yet. But if you plan to go for your BSN then I think you have to have Sociology anyway. lol

Our school combines Pharm with Assessment, and then it's part of all other classes to some extent. I just took the final in Pharm/Assessment.
Okay, I think that's how they do it here. I think pharm is part of one of the earliest nursing courses.
I'm just sticking with STLCC for now, and probably do a bridge program later. I just want a degree! I just hope they won't change their requirements again.
Yeah it was first semester, Assessment/Pharmcology, along with NUR 111 (Fundamentals).
