Hello! My NCLEX is in a few days. I'm worried about Pharmacology on the exam, as it was my worst subject in Nursing School, so I want to make sure I'm prepared for it.
Would you mind sharing your experience with Pharmacology on the NCLEX?
Were there many Pharmacology questions for you? Were many of your Pharmacology questions mainly regarding a certain system?
Thank you in advance!

I took the NCLEX back in June, and I think I only had a couple Pharm questions. I had NO IDEA what the medication they gave me was, and it didn't even have a popular drug ending. All they told me was that it was a DM med, so I used that info and ran with it. Obviously, everyone's exam is different though. I still think studying the drug endings and knowing the physiology of the drugs is super helpful!

I don't think I had any pharmacology on PN and RN NCLEX. I can't remember I passed both with minimum questions each under 40 minutes. I did approximately a minimum of 500 questions a day.

Hey there, I recently took my NCLEX for the first time (I kept postponing it out of sheer anxiety), and rightfully so because my exam was HARD. I studied religiously off of UWORLD for about 2 months, pharmacology included. It was also my weakest area out of the 7 or 8. nevertheless, my exam was like a pharmacology exam. I received some 20-30 questions about it. They all ranged from difficulty though-a lot of COPD meds and others, i never heard of or recognized the roots, so it was a guessing game. A good start though would be uworld because theyre so broad and you build the confidence from there. granted, not all meds on the NLCEX were covered on Uworld, but it gives you enough knowledge to use your judgment and eliminate. eliminating was what saved my butt the entire exam! I found it extremely difficult having some 30 SATA as well. I ended up passing with 265.

Of all the things you study for the NCLEX the med test part is the one thing you better know inside out because this is something you will definitely be using in any work position for the rest of your career.
