I'm not sure where they teach this in your program, but there is a dosage calculations portion for any drug you are giving. If you have X drug on hand and they want Y dose, what do you give? Then you have to diviide and make sure you have the correct units for your end result.
In pharm classes, they tend to look at each drug class for its therapeutic effect, adverse effects, contraindications, and drug interactions with other drugs, food, etc. You'll also need to know the generic name, trade (brand) names and if there is anything special you need to do to administer it. "ADME" - administration, distribution, metabolism and excretion are areas you need to consider in pharm. Hope this helps!
