So I'm curious what are some of the unique advancement opportunities for Periop RNs?
I think theirs plenty of information about management/administration roles in general, and a few threads on rnfa
But what about things like DNP and CNS. How viable are those career paths in the OR? Other than the np (as basically a first assist) what do they do perioperatively?
Is cns even viable for OR nurses? Or is it pretty much a long shot?
Any other solid advancement opportunities for Periop RNs that I'm not thinking if?

I would strongly recommend exploring AORN.org This is the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses website, an you can find a lot of information that may be helpful. I personally have a number of colleagues and mentors who have advanced degrees as well as are advanced practitioners, but I don't know how it has hanged their roles.
