Housing around philly

  1. Hi guys, I'll be working in one of the city hospitals and I've been doing some homework on the housing around the area. For those who work in the city, do you live in the city as well? If not, where do you recommend? I've been looking at conshohocken, king of prussia, etc. I personally like KOP since I used to live there but the 76 traffic just terrify me... any suggestion would be helpful.

I assume that you will be driving to work, but if you lived in Center City, you could use transit and save a bundle of money, and headaches. The subway to Temple Hospital isn't lovely, but it is pretty safe, and there are always people around. I did clincials with a woman who took the subway on the 7-3 and 3-11 shifts, and she felt very comfortable. If you work at Einstein, you could take the Broad Street subway as well.

Several regional rail trains stop at University City, at the Penn Campus, or you could take the Market Frankford line for Pennsylvania Hospital.
