2011-2012 Pell Grants...Congress Wants To Eliminate or Reduce Amount

Heah guys,

Anyone else having a problem with the hold on 2011-2012 pell grants that the congress is trying to eliminate or reduce the amount we are eligible for on our FASFA?

My financial aid advisor is meeting with all of us at school and re-configuring our award based on 2010-2011 aid ONLY which means that we have higher payments now (my payments went from $500 to $1,100) to make to the school (I attend a private school in CA). The problem I am having is that financial does not cover the whole tuition and so we have an unfunded balance that we are responsible for. They put us on a payment plan spread over 12 monthly payments.

All schools are affected by this not just private schools, but also university and jc level students as well. So, I thought I would start a thread to see if anyone else was finding that they are also having a problem.
