I meant to post this last week, but the weekend snuck up on me. I have a suggestion I think all nurses should pass on to loved ones families---instead of getting Grandma another flower vase or box of chocolates, spoil them to a pedicure. The feet I see on some of the old ladies freak me out!!!
I started treating my own Grandmother with a gift cert for a pedicure on Christmas/Mothers day and her birthday. At 1st was kind of grossed out at the thought of someone tending to her toes, now she cant live with out them.
Ok that is my mothers day suggestion, my mothers day wish is that the kids will let me sleep a few hours today!!

Since I started going to this one place for my pedi, I have seen quite a few little ladies brought in for their pedicures and manicures. I think this is great. When I worked in one nursing home that is something that always bothered me was the unkept toenails. Great idea racing-mom4

What an awesome idea! It's one of my "me things". I always feel so much better afterwards! Thanks for suggesting it!

make sure it isn't contra-indicated.We've all probably seen stories on the news involving infections contracted at nail salons. The local salon I go to has a varied clientel-not once have I seen the staff screen the clients. They saw away at those old toes regardless of PVD or diabetes.I have also seen them work on a local paraplegic.Scary.
