Hello! I'm planning to take my CPN exam this upcoming fall. I wanted to start studying soon. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good review book. I was hoping to find a book specifically aimed at the CPN exam review but have had difficulty find one. Thank you!

Hi there! I took my CPN in June and passed í ½í±í ¼í¿¼ I used Nurse Builders. They have a purple book that has tons of great content, a yellow question book with hundreds of questions and flash cards that are great for studying on the go! I read a chapter in the purple book then completed the corresponding questions in the yellow book. It helped me to understand what I did and didn't pick up from reading and what I had to research further. Good luck!!

The whole CPN Exam program is a joke...Just a piece of paper that says you passed a test, and therefore, you know what you're suppose to know...You could get that paper without ever touching a pediatric patient. OK you can start dog piling now...

Kinda...but the NCLEX is a start off the blocks with the assumption the baby nurses are loosed on the profession with the ability to learn how to become a functional nurse.

I used the ANCC Pediatric Review and Resource Manual--very helpful, had lots of practice questions with well-explained rationales for the answers. I really recommend taking practice exams, too--ANCC offers them on-line. It's a pretty difficult test, actually, so study hard and good luck!

Some people have goals that are personal to them and certification exams can be the difference between getting a job offer and being passed up. Plus, many RN-BSN programs will give you credit for a nursing certification. It'll be much cheaper for me to take my CCRN for $300 versus pay $700 for another nursing elective course.
